Birds, chimpanzees, Murchison Falls and much more can all be seen on a short drive from Masindi Hotel
 
Budongo Forest is best known as an ornithologists paradise. Bird species found there include Sabine’s spine tail, Cassins spine tail,Pygmy crakes, Kingfishers( Chocolate backed, blue breasted, dwarf), White spotted fluff tail, Ituri batis, Pulvus illadopsis, Brown twin spot, Cameroon somber, Cassins hawk eagle, Crowned eagle, Yellow crested woodpecker, Forest robin, Little green sunbird, Grey headed sunbird.

The forest is also an excellent location for watching several species of monkey and is also home to chimpanzees.

 
 
  Muchison Falls National Park boasts 78 species of mammals and game viewing is excellent. On a game drive in the park you are likely to see Giraffe, Elephant, Kob, Lion and Waterbuck. Taking a boat cruise on the Victoria Nile to the bottom of the falls will give you the chance chance to see scores of hippos, birds and Nile crocodile.

Apart from the large game, the park also has several primates including Patas monkeys, Olive baboons, Colubus and Chimpanzees. The park's avifauna is large and diverse and it has over 425 bird species, the most conspicuous being the hornbills, bee-eaters, kingfishers and storks. Key species for bird watchers are Egyptian plover, Chestnut crowned sparrow weaver, Rock pranticole and Red winged grey warbler.
