What Is On The Shelves
There is no sign outside. The gift shop is inside the hotel, and most people come across it on their way past reception rather than by looking for it.
What is on the shelves is made in Africa, and most of it in Uganda: carvings, printed and woven textiles, cushions, crocheted animals, books, coffee, and craft work from Bunyoro. The mask wall, the carved chairs and the tables belong to the same collection that runs through the rooms of the hotel, so a good deal of what you have been living with all week can be taken home.
It keeps the same hours as reception, so it is open whenever the hotel is. You do not have to be staying here to walk in.
Prices are given on request. Ask at reception while you are here, or write to us before you arrive if you would like something set aside.
