Built Around How Operators Actually Work
Masindi Hotel has been the stopover on the road west since 1923. Twenty-nine bookable rooms, a campsite in six and a half acres of gardens, and a team used to safari timings — early departures, late arrivals and itineraries that change on the road.
Every confirmed group booking includes a driver room. Five dedicated driver rooms, secure vehicle parking, driver meal arrangements, and one complimentary night after ten accumulated nights in a year.
All operator requests are answered within four working hours, 07:00 to 22:00 East Africa Time. No chasing, no silence the week before a departure.
Breakfast before dawn for park departures, and packed breakfasts or lunches so your guests reach the gate or the chimpanzee briefing fed and on time.
Fully solar-powered since December 2024, with our own borehole water. No generator noise at 05:00, no power cuts mid-dinner, and card and mobile money accepted.
With Budongo Eco Lodge closed, we are the nearest full-service hotel to the Kaniyo Pabidi trailhead — about thirty minutes’ drive for morning chimpanzee tracking.
Enough capacity for a full vehicle or a series departure, handled by one reservations desk rather than a booking engine.
On the Road to Murchison
Kampala to Masindi: approximately 215 km, four to five hours. Masindi to the Kichumbanyobo Gate of Murchison Falls National Park, or to Budongo Forest: approximately 20 km, thirty minutes.
It is the natural end of a first day out of Kampala and the natural start of a park morning — which is why operators have been routing through this building for a hundred years.

What a Contract Gives You
A confidential net rate sheet for the full contract year, in US dollars and Uganda shillings, across bed and breakfast, half board and full board.
Operators producing twenty or more room-nights in a contract year are upgraded for the following season — better rates, lighter deposit terms and priority room holds in peak periods. We upgrade qualifying partners proactively; there is nothing to apply for.
Free room allocations for tour leaders on qualifying group sizes, driver rooms held at favourable rates, and driver meal arrangements.
April, May and November carry an additional stay offer on contracted bookings, aligned with low-season park promotions.
The Masindi Heritage and Explorer Experience, Budongo Edge chimpanzee tracking with no park entry fee, and Royal Mile birding — quoted per person so they drop straight into an itinerary.
We do not knowingly accept direct bookings from clients you introduce at lower rates, and contracted rooms are not resold through online travel agencies.
How to Apply
- Complete the form below. It takes a few minutes and asks for your licence and company registration details.
- We verify your credentials. We check tourism licensing and company registration. This is why the rate sheet is not published on this page — contracted rates are confidential and are released only to verified operators.
- We send the contracting pack. The full agreement and the current STO rate sheet, usually within two working days.
- Sign and start booking. The agreement can be signed digitally. Once it is returned, your account is active and you may book at contracted rates.
